Fine dining restaurant celebrates traditional Thai festival with huge offer
There’s a huge, two-week-long food festival coming to Madinat Jumeirah’s traditional Thai fine dining restaurant Pai Thai, and it looks brilliant.
Down on the waters of the Madinat Jumeirah, Pai Thai will be celebrating the traditional Thai festival of Loy Krathong. Literally translating as “to float a basked”, Loy Krathon comes from the tradition of making decorated baskets, and setting them to float on a river – so you can expect to see the Madinat canals like never before.
As well as decorative celebrations, Pai Thai is also going all in on a dedicated, fortnight-long set menu to mark the occasion from Wednesday November 1 to Tuesday 14.
For Dhs285 per person (for food only), the Loy Krathon 2017 menu features unlimited amounts of starts, mains and desserts ordered on rotation, which the restaurant describes as being perfect for sharing. Think celebratory brunch, and you’ll be on the right lines.
Dishes will include chicken red curry with lychee, lime leaf, chilli and Thai basil; wok-fried crispy tofu with onion, pepper, corn black pepper and soy sauce; grilled sea bass fillet with garlic, coriander, and lime dressing; as well as dishes including crispy prawns, crispy marinated chicken, papaya salad and more.
But beyond the food, there’s also going to be a resident Thai dancer performing on the Madinat’s waters upon an abra outside the restaurant.
With traditional entertainment, celebrations and unlimited food, this is promising to be a brilliant bash worth heading down for.
We’ll see you there.
