British pop-rock band Scouting For Girls will be playing a one-off show at Dubai Opera on Friday October 20. The gig will also be the first time Dubai’s opera house will be arranged in a flat floor layout, and nearly 3,000 people will be able to fit in the space, which is due to host songwriter, singer and composer Rufus Wainwright in December.
Expect hits including She’s So Lovely, This Ain’t a Love Song and Elvis Ain’t Dead as the three-piece band reels off hits from its four studio albums, which include self-titled debut album Scouting For Girls, follow up record Everybody Wants to Be on TV, plus 2012’s The Light Between Us and 2015’s Still Thinking About You.
“Scouting For Girls have a decade of successful albums and tours to their name along with some amazing hit songs that are streamed in their millions the world over, they are the perfect band to bring a party atmosphere to Dubai Opera for our first ever fully flat-floor concert,” said Jasper Hope, chief executive of Dubai Opera. “Nearly 3000 people will be able to sing-along to She’s So Lovely, Heartbeat and many more fantastic songs to help create an incredible atmosphere inside the venue that night.”
