Enormous luxury Bulgari resort opening in December
Top restaurants, a yacht marina, private beaches, suites and villas all coming to Jumeira Bay
A brand-new luxury resort by Bulgari has been announced and will be opening at the start of December.
The Bulgari Resort Dubai is being described as “the ultimate urban resort” by the team behind it, and is being developed on the suitably luxurious surroundings of Jumeira Bay, otherwise known as the Seahorse Island.
Dubai joins the ranks of luxury Bulgari resorts located in Bali, Milan, London and Beijing, and the 101-room resort will also come with 20 premium, private beachfront villas, plus a private beach itself.
“The Bulgari Resort & Residences Dubai is another milestone for the Bulgari Hotels and Resorts Collection and represents a tribute to the importance of the Middle East market for the Bulgari brand. It is an honour for us to partner with Meraas on this extraordinary project, which brings the best of the Italian design and lifestyle culture to one of the most modern and future oriented city in the world,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, Chief Executive Officer of Bulgari.
It also, as alluded to by Babin, is run in partnership with Meraas, which recently announced the opening of brand-new beach-side destination La Mer, which will be home to more than 130 restaurants and shops, plus a waterpark, cinema complex and hotels and residences. La Mer will be found just up the coast from the Bulgari resort.
As for the resort itself expect a high-end, luxurious stay in keeping with the Bulgari brand. The company, renowned for its exquisite diamonds, will fuse Italian style and flair with contemporary design inspired by Dubai.
“Each piece, from the marble bathtubs to the sculpted door handles, hail from the finest quality materials and is incorporated in a unified, seamless fashion,” says the team behind the hotel.
High quality Italian brands such as Maxalto, Flos and Fexform kit out each room, suite and villa, with huge balconies designed to soak up the expansive views of either the Dubai skyline or the Arabian Gulf.
The villas, sized at 170 sq m to 540 sq m, are a real way to treat yourself. Expect a huge living area, a sunken bath tub, a private garden, a large outdoor swimming pool and even a personal butler.
Elsewhere, there’s a 1,700 sq m BVLGARI Spa, offering eight treatment rooms, a 25-metre indoor pool with a sea view through floor-to-ceiling windows, a range of treatments, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and more.
The flagship restaurant at Bulgari will be Il Ristorante by Niko Romito, the chef with a three-Michelin starred restaurant in Italy who will personally train a resident chef in Dubai to bring a menu that “expresses Italian culture at its best”, and we can’t wait to try it. For sundowners, head to Il Bar, with a range of signature beverages and sweeping views across the Arabian Gulf. Elsewhere, there will be relaxing lounges for Italian-themed teas, and the relaxed Il Café for some stripped back Italian flavours.
If all that wasn’t enough, traipse along La Spiaggia – the resort’s private beach – with private villa cabanas, a children’s pool and club area, an outdoor pool and an outdoor restaurant serving international food and drinks. Sit by the sea under an array of lanterns and candlelight – sounds alright to us.
But only traipse along the beach until you get to the marina, the first-ever Bulgari Marina & Yacht Club will feature its own private outdoor pool and bar, a dedicated seafood restaurant and a 50-boat harbour intended to recreate the charm of a Mediterranean village in the Arabian Gulf.
If all of that gets too much, take a moment in La Limonaia, the not-so-secret secret lemon-tree garden which offers guests a private, country garden-inspired space inspired by old Italy.
Alternatively, head out one of the resort’s dedicated stores for a bit of retail therapy, in classic Bulgari fashion.
This is one of the biggest, most luxurious resorts to open this season, and we can’t wait to catch our first glimpse inside.
