Dubai taxis are taking a futuristic step with this new upgrade

Transport is about to get a whole lot easier

Dubai taxis are taking a futuristic step with this new upgrade

On your way to a big event and worried you might not get in? Not to worry, as RTA’s brand-new smart service will let you book on the go.

That’s right, you can now arrange tickets to any popular attraction around the city while you're on the way to your destination.

The smart service will also make card payments a lot easier. The screens have been influenced by ones already seen onboard airlines.

A pilot programme of the smart screens has been launched across 50 Dubai Transport Corporation taxis already, which will eventually be increased to 700.

With RTA investing Dhs68.8m (US$18.7m) on smart meter systems in the city’s taxis last year, along with paying RTA fees over the phone, getting in cab is a bit like stepping into the future.
